Recall of Peloton Tread+ Treadmills Due to Risk of Injury or Death from Being Pulled Underneath the Rear of the Treadmill
On May 5, 2021, Peloton issued a recall of their Tread+ Treadmills due to the possibility of injury or death from being pulled underneath the rear of the treadmill. The recalled Tread has a 32-inch high definition (HD) touchscreen console and a running space of 67 inches. The treadmill was launched as the Peloton Tread in 2018 but renamed Tread+ in September 2020. The Tread+ model TR01 is printed on a black sticker located on the end cap in the front of the treadmill deck.
NOTE: This product is different than the Peloton Tread that was also recalled by the CPSC on May 5, 2021.
Consumers are instructed to stop using these treadmills immediately and contact Peloton for a full refund until Nov 6, 2022. Returns after this date will receive a partial refund. Consumers who would like to keep their Peloton treadmill also have the option of placing the treadmill in a separate room where it’s not accessible to children or pets and using a software improvement that automatically locks the treadmill after each use. The software update requires a four-digit code to unlock the Tread+.

Thank you for the clarification. I checked it out since I have the Thread+, which I got a year and a half ago. CPSC released two recalls on May 5, 2021 for two very similarly named products.
Peloton Thread – recalled for injury caused by the touchscreen consoles falling off.
Peloton Thread+ (this post) – called for injury and death due to children and pets being pulled underneath the rear of the treadmill
